Acceptance, not apology
Members never have to explain or excuse their size. Disclosure is handled by the platform itself, which means conversations can begin where most apps make them end — with curiosity about the person.
NotAboutSize is a discreet, modern dating platform built around one quiet conviction: that connection is shaped by character, not by anatomy. We exist for the adults who’ve waited too long for a space where size disclosure is already handled and intimacy can start with honesty.
Founded 2023 · 91,000+ members · United States & beyond
NotAboutSize grew out of a simple frustration that David Minns kept hearing from friends, readers, and survey respondents: mainstream dating apps had no language for size acceptance, and the silence was costing people years of avoided connection. David, who originally championed niche size-positive dating with Dinky One in 2020, set out to build something warmer, safer, and more inclusive of every orientation and identity.
His founding statement still anchors the team’s daily decisions:
Some men are big, some average and some below average. NotAboutSize lets smaller men date people outside their circle of friends with the safety that everyone using the site is fully aware. Members can focus on shared interests and get on with dating. — David Minns, founder
Three years on, the team is a small, distributed crew of product designers, moderators, and writers based across the United States. We answer to members, not investors — and we like it that way.
We didn’t want another swipe-and-burn app. We wanted a place that earned trust slowly, then kept earning it. These three commitments shape every feature decision we ship.
Members never have to explain or excuse their size. Disclosure is handled by the platform itself, which means conversations can begin where most apps make them end — with curiosity about the person.
Email-only signup, optional blurred photos, no social login, no data sales, and a one-click delete. Privacy isn’t a premium feature here — it’s the foundation.
Straight, gay, bisexual, transgender, and non-binary adults are equally welcome. Body-positive women who genuinely prefer smaller partners belong here too. Everyone reads the same community norms.
Niche dating can easily slide into novelty if it isn’t handled with care. NotAboutSize takes its cues from the wider body-positivity movement and the journalists who have written thoughtfully about size acceptance — including Mashable’s framing of size-positive dating as a stigma-free win for men who’ve felt invisible on mainstream apps.
The shape of your tricep or the firmness of your thigh might reel a guy in, but it surely won’t keep him around. — Body-positive author Robyn, paraphrased in our philosophy
The same idea applies here: physical size doesn’t sustain attraction or love — character does. That belief shapes the tone of our copy, the way our moderators handle reports, and the kind of language we will never use about anyone’s body. If you’d like to read more on the cultural side, see our piece on whether size really matters or our guide to building body confidence as a man.

Body-positive size acceptance has been covered in hundreds of online, print, radio, and TV outlets — from Mashable to Dating News and Dating Advice. We’re grateful to the reporters who’ve written about the niche with care.
Though it may appear to be a gimmick, size-positive dating has been framed as a body-positivity win — a stigma-free space for men with smaller penises to date with mutual awareness upfront.
Members can focus on shared interests and get on with dating — the safety of mutual awareness is what makes the experience finally feel ordinary.
